Welcome to St. Mark Kindergarten! My name is Julie Pinard and I am excited and honored to work with you in this first big step in your child's educational career. I want to assist your child in becoming a Christ-centered student and a lifelong learner, and have a lot of fun in the process.

Everything we do in kindergarten is important and I am always amazed at the growth I see in each child as the year progresses. We will be learning the basics and so much more; letter recognition, sounds, blending sounds into words, reading sight words, and reading. In math we will focus on number recognition, number sense, addition, subtraction, geometry, and counting to 100. For Language Arts, we will be writing sentences, reports, and stories, and most important, learning about our Catholic faith.

Your child will be most successful if he or she gets a good night’s sleep each night, about ten hours for most kindergarten aged children, and starts the day with a healthy breakfast. Letting me know when something unusual or upsetting has happened at home will help me understand if your child’s behavior changes. Letting me know if something at school has upset your child is just as important. If I don’t know, I can’t take care of it.

Help in the classroom is always greatly appreciated! I need help on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 2:00 to 3:20. Siblings are welcome.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns: (I check every morning) (I check less often)
