We appreciate our school parents and all you do for our school. Thank you!
REPORTING AN ABSENCE OR TARDY
When your child is ill and will be absent from school, please call the school office at (206) 364-1633 by 8:45am.
It is important that all students arrive at school on time for morning prayer and to receive instructions for the day. If a child is tardy, a tardy slip from the office is needed for admittance to the classroom. If a student is consistently late, it is the responsibility of the homeroom teacher to note the frequency of tardies. Habitual tardiness will be dealt with individually.
Consequences for tardies will include the following:
Your enthusiastic volunteerism enables us to keep operating costs low and fundraisers successful. Volunteering is also a way for parents to become a part of their students’ school life and get to know the teachers, staff, and other parents. Your unique talents and time spent at St. Mark Parish School are invaluable to the spirit of our community. Thank you for what you do!
What Activities Should I Choose?
We hope you’ll choose activities and events that are interesting to you, fit within your schedule, and reflect the current priorities and needs of St. Mark Parish School. Stay up-to-date with current needs by reading the family envelope and clicking here.
When Do I Sign Up for My Volunteer Activities?
Signing up for volunteer activities is part of the school registration process. Our major push for scheduling volunteers is in September, at the beginning of the school year. Knowing how many volunteers we can count on at the beginning of the year helps our staff and event leaders plan their important activities of the year.
Do I Need Safe Environment Training?
Archdiocesan policy states that any volunteer working with children or vulnerable adults must have a mandatory background check and receive safe-environment training. But this training is immensely valuable and every adult would benefit from attending. Parents, grandparents, extended family, parishioners, neighbors and special friends are all welcome to volunteer and to attend our free Safe Environment Training. Contact the school office for more details about when the training takes place.
