Emergency Preparedness Kit

Dear Parents,

As part of emergency preparedness, we require each child have a small kit with a few necessary supplies in the event of an emergency situation that might keep children at school for an extended period of time.

Please use a 1 gallon “Ziploc” plastic bag and place the following items inside:

 1 small flashlight requiring A or AA batteries
 1 package batteries (do not place in flashlight)
 1 space blanket (available at Fred Meyers or Big 5)
 3 granola bars (no chocolate or peanut butter type please, it could melt!)
 3 cans of juice in the 4 oz. or 6 oz. size. No box or pouch juices because of leakage.
 1 travel-size package of Kleenex
 Moist hand towelettes
 A few Band-Aids of various sizes
 Child information sheet (PDF form)

When your child’s kit is completed, print his/her name on the bag with a permanent marker and return the kit to the child's classroom.

At the end of the school year, the kits will be returned to the children. The juice
and granola bars may be eaten, but keep the rest of the kit for the next school year,
replacing only the juice, batteries, and granola bars.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. The safety and well-being of our
children and staff are extremely important.
