Emergency Preparedness Kit

Dear Parents:

As a part of emergency preparedness, we are required each child to have a small kit with a few necessary supplies in the event of an emergency situation that might keep children at school for an extended period of time.  Please use a 1 gallon "Ziploc" plastic bag and place the following items inside:

  1. 1 small flashlight requiring A or AA batteries
  2. 1 package batteries (do not place in flashlight)
  3. 1 space blanket (available at Fred Meyer or Big 5)
  4. 3 Granola Bars (no chocolate please, it could melt!)
  5. 3 cans of juice in the 4 oz. or 6 oz. size.  Please do not send box or pouch juices because of leakage.
  6. 1 travel size package of Kleenex
  7. Moist hand towelettes
  8. A few Band-Aids of various sizes
  9. Attached Notification Form

When your child's kit is completed, print his/her name on the bag with a permanent marker and return the kit to school.

At the end of the school year, the kits will be returned to the children.  The juice and granola bars may be eaten, but keep the rest of the kit for the next school year, replacing the juice, batteries and granola bars.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.  The safety and well-being of our children and staff is extremely important.
