SCRIP!

What is Scrip?

Scrip are gift certificates issued by stores, restaurants and service providers that you are already shopping at, or using. St. Mark's is able to buy these certificates at a negotiated discount and exchange them for your cash at full face value. The discount which ranges from 2% to over 25% is the contribution retained by St. Mark's School.

Is it easy to use?

Yes! Use Scrip just like cash. There is no difference between Scrip and cash when you go shopping, except you are using gift certificates, or cards, to purchase your items.

What’s the catch?

There isn’t one! That’s the great thing about using Scrip! It doesn’t cost you a thing! The reason SCRIP is so effective is simple.  Families generate revenue through purchases they would make anyway.  For example - an organization of 150 families easily spends up to one million dollars per year on food, clothing and other essentials.  If these families use SCRIP for these purchases, they can raise as much as $40,000 per year - without spending an additional penny.  It's that easy.

Where can I use Scrip?

There are currently over 300 restaurants, grocery stores, drug stores, gas station and retail stores where you can use Scrip! Planning a building project, or home addition? Use Scrip at Home Depot, Lowe’s, or the BonMacy’s Furniture Store. See the Vendor List for a complete listing of the businesses and the discounts St. Mark's School can earn.

Who can buy Scrip?

Anyone, the more people who participate, the faster the profits add up. Encourage friends, grandparents, aunts and uncles and everyone you know to participate. You may purchase SCRIP by sending your order form and check to school in your child's backpack in an envelope marked "SCRIP".  The office will receive the orders where they will be filled by one of the SCRIP volunteers and returned back to the classroom for your child to take home.  You may also place your order after Sunday masses!
