This Week’s Announcements & Reminders

If your student applied to a Catholic High School, he/she should be receiving notification by February 13th. I cannot stress to you enough that even if your student is put on a waiting list, there is a 95% chance he/she will eventually be accepted into the freshman class once other students have made their commitments and spots become available.

The next major decision will be what level of classes to take. The high school advisors will be most helpful in this regard and I am happy to answer any questions that can help you and your student as well.

Our school year is only halfway through. There is a lot your student can do to  prepare for high school. Continuing to do their best to master concepts and curriculum in every subject is critical. And time management is a skill they will need not only in high school, but in their adult life as well.

Your student should be thinking about their Science Project which is due in the middle of May. By March I will publish due dates for various phases of the project. It does have to be a project that uses the Scientific Method (not a demonstration). They need to create and test a hypothesis and keep accurate records of all that they do. Again, I will publish more by March 1st.

Our students will be creating their Auction Project on March 4th. Please send in your $10 to help pay for the framing of the project. Thank you to the 8th grade room parent, Margie Hennessey, who will take the project to be framed and have it ready in time for our auction.

Thank you for all of your support. I enjoy your students every day!
